Tiger back on top
Tiger Woods is finally back on top of the game of golf. He won his first PGA Tour event yesterday since his very publicized collapse in 2009. I think that Tiger's win is not only going to propel him but also boost the game of golf again. Golf is pretty much nothing without Tiger Woods. He is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world and without him, golf is very boring and bleak. The other golfers may not want to see him back on his game, but the game of golf will be thrilled.

NOW OR NEVER FOR ALVAREZ
Pedro Alvarez is getting ready to start just his second full season in Major League Baseball in 2012, but i believe this is a make or break year for the 2008 second overall pick. He has not performed to his capability up to this point and a lot of Pittsburgh natives are ready to give up on him. I am not one of them but i do believe he has to start showing some improvements this year. He is going to be a big factor to whether the Pirates are successful or not. He needs to start showing some power and cut down on those strikeouts we became accustomed to seeing last year. This is definitely the year in which he has to start living up to the hype he had coming out of college.

BUCS INK CUTCH FOR 6 YEARS
Last night, the Pittsburgh Pirates signed their all-star center fielder Andrew McCutchen to a 6 year deal, worth $51.5 million. I think this is a great step in the right direction for this organization. In the past, the front office was not willing to give long term contracts to their young star players and ultimately ended up losing them to free agency or trading them away for almost nothing. Signing McCutchen shows that they are committed to turning this team into a successful one. With McCutchen and all of the other talented they have groomed, i am hopeful that they will become a championship caliber team in the next few years. #letsgobucs!
